Our Weekender in the Snow

If you have been watching my IG, then you know that I am back in Utah and hitting the mountains hard. I feel that if I can’t be by the oceans, then I need to be in the mountains as often as possible. That being said, this time my sister and her two babes tagged along for a much needed little adventure up to basin. {Don’t mind the rugged – din’t get ready kind look I’m swaggin’…. not my finest moment lol!}.

This trip we packed up the boys, the pups and headed up the mountain to Snow Basin to start a little hike. Not far in, we got “Are we done yet? I am bored” from the littlest one. But soon enough, he was just as happy to be out there with us. The snow was super bright against the shine of the sun and the weather was warm, even that high up. It really couldn’t have been more ideal. One of the times I looked back to see Cayman stuck thigh high in the snow. Thinking he was exaggerating, I helped him pull his leg; which actually wasn’t coming. Laughing too hard to focus, I finally pulled his shoe-less tootsie out and had him lean on me as I tried to pry his shoe out of the snow. He wasn’t lying.

The crisp mountain air, the unbelievable views of the pine against the snow and the knowledge of having so much mountain to yourselves is what really refreshes me and makes me feel peace. If you are stressed, sad, bored or even just wanting to see something new, jump in your car, find a random path see where it takes you.
